YU Ka Hei
Biography
Yu Ka Hei is a visual artist based in Hong Kong, working primarily in photography and sculpture. His practice explores memory, time, and urban poetics through delicate textures and nuanced visual languages. Drawing from personal experience and the shifting cityscape of his hometown, Yu transforms fleeting moments into works that evoke both historicity and emotional resonance.
He holds a Master of Arts in Fine Arts from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a BA in Photography from RMIT University and Hong Kong Art School. In 2022–23, he completed the Art Specialist Course (Sculpture) at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre.
Yu’s recent exhibitions include Echoes of the Everyday (2025, HKAC) and Playing With Light (2023, PMQ), alongside earlier showcases at Hong Kong Arts Centre (2017), Comix Home Base (2016), and Fine Art Asia (2016). He also collaborates with Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine.
